These Terms incorporate our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and AI Disclaimer. Affiliate participants are also bound by our Affiliate Terms.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using Cepe and Cepe Paper (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The Services
Cepe Paper is an all-in-one document studio for creating and editing documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and PDFs, including optional cloud sync, collaboration features, Cepe Sign, Activity Tracker for eligible team plans, Cepe AI (CAI), and desktop applications. Features may vary by plan and platform.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly via security contact if you suspect unauthorized access.
Social sign-in (e.g. Google) is subject to the provider's terms as well as ours. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions, licenses, and billing
Paid plans and desktop license keys are billed according to the pricing and billing term shown at purchase. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
3-Year prepaid. Where you purchase a 3-Year term, the price shown is the total upfront amount for thirty-six (36) months of access under that prepaid term (one payment for the term). Prepaid 3-Year terms do not auto-renew after the prepaid period ends unless you purchase again.
Cancelling a subscription does not automatically mean immediate loss of access. Cancelling renewal normally leaves access active through the paid entitlement period shown in your account. Cancellation and refund requests are separate: cancelling does not by itself approve a refund. Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes non-excludable statutory consumer guarantees (including under the Australian Consumer Law, where it applies).
License keys are for personal or organizational use as specified at purchase. You may not resell, share, or circumvent license or seat limits.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of content you create or upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Services (including backups and support).
You are responsible for your content and must have all rights necessary to use and share it. Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful material.
6. Acceptable use
Your use of the Services must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which describes permitted and prohibited conduct for Cepe Paper, the online editor, cloud features, forum, and related products. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Activity Tracker
Activity Tracker is an optional team feature for eligible Professional, Business, and Enterprise plans. It helps organization owners and administrators understand attendance, document-related activity, and productivity patterns for remote and distributed staff who use Cepe Paper.
Activity Tracker collects metadata about how the Services are used (such as sign-in events, document opens, edits, exports, and shares). It does not record webcam, microphone, or screen content. Team administrators must enable Activity Tracker for their organization and are responsible for configuring it lawfully, notifying team members where required, and using insights in compliance with employment, privacy, and workplace monitoring laws.
Processing of Activity Tracker data is described in our Privacy Policy. Misuse of Activity Tracker — including covert surveillance, harassment, or monitoring without appropriate authority — violates our Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Cepe AI (CAI) and AI features
Optional AI features, including Cepe AI (CAI), are subject to our AI Disclaimer. You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs before use and must not rely on them for professional advice without qualified human review.
9. Intellectual property
The Services, including software, branding, templates, and documentation, are owned by Cepe or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or brand except as needed to use the Services.
10. Third-party services
The Services may integrate with third parties (e.g. Google sign-in, cloud storage, payment processors). Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for third-party products.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CEPE AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Cepe against claims arising from your content, misuse of the Services, or violation of these Terms, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, risk to the Services or other users, or as required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends; provisions that by nature should survive will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in Australia, unless applicable law provides you a mandatory local forum.
16. Changes
We may modify these Terms. We will post updates on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
