This Cookie Policy explains how Cepe uses cookies and similar technologies. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and device identifiers. We use these technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, measure traffic, and attribute marketing or affiliate campaigns where you have agreed.
2. Why Cepe uses cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in and protect your account
- Deliver core site functionality and security
- Remember settings such as theme or workspace preferences (with your consent)
- Understand how visitors use our marketing site (with your consent)
- Measure advertising and affiliate performance (with your consent)
- Remember editor and dashboard preferences related to optional team features you use
Activity Tracker. Activity Tracker itself relies on application events sent to our servers while you use Cepe Paper; it is not powered by marketing-site advertising cookies. See our Privacy Policy for how that data is processed.
We do not load non-essential cookies until you grant consent through our cookie banner or preference center, except where strictly necessary for the Service you request.
3. Cookie categories
4. Managing your preferences
On your first visit, we show a cookie banner where you can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize preferences by category. You can change your choices at any time with the button below, or from Manage Cookies in the site footer.
You can also clear cookies in your browser; blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or checkout. Consent is stored locally under cepe_cookie_consent with a version number so we can ask again if our policy or categories change materially.
5. Third-party services
Third parties may set cookies when you use the Services after you consent, or when strictly necessary. Providers we may use or plan to integrate include:
- Analytics: Google Analytics, PostHog, Plausible
- Functional: Theme preferences, Language, Workspace preferences
- Marketing: Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Affiliate tracking
- Authentication & payments: Supabase (auth), Stripe (checkout), Google (sign-in) — often essential for the feature you request
We do not control third-party cookies. Review those providers' privacy and cookie notices for details. Where required (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions), we request consent before optional analytics and marketing cookies. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Storage duration
| Purpose | Examples | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication | Session tokens (Supabase) | Session / as configured |
| Consent record | cepe_cookie_consent (localStorage) | Until cleared or updated |
| Affiliate referral | Referral ID and campaign cookies (marketing consent) | Up to program window (e.g. 30–60 days) |
| Analytics | Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Months (per Google) |
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no uniform industry standard for responding; we honor applicable legal requirements and your cookie choices through our consent tools.
8. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy. We will post revisions on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If we change categories or providers in a material way, we may ask for consent again.
9. Contact
