Already have Cepe Paper?

The desktop app checks for updates when you launch it and again every four hours. When a signed update is published to the public host, you can install it from inside the app. After installers are listed on this page, you can also download a fresh copy here.

In-app updates are verified with the Tauri updater signature before they install.

Why use the desktop app?

The desktop app is the same editor as the web app, installed on Windows, macOS, or Linux. It adds local projects, offline files, and the document types the app registers with your operating system.

  • The same Cepe Paper editor as the web app, installed on your computer.
  • Local projects and offline files on every plan, including Free.
  • Open and save the file types the desktop app registers with your operating system.
  • Optional Cepe Cloud storage on every signed-in account; Automatic cross-device Cloud Sync starts on Creator.

Offline and local files

The Free plan includes Cepe Paper editor (web), Desktop app, Local projects, Export to PDF, Basic templates, 500 MB Cepe Cloud storage, 1 user, and Community support. Local projects stay on your computer. You can keep working offline and upload to Cepe Cloud when you want a copy in your account.

Cepe Cloud syncing

Every signed-in account includes Cepe Cloud storage. Automatic cross-device Cloud Sync starts on Creator. Automatic cross-device Cloud Sync is included on Creator and above. Free includes Cepe Cloud storage you can upload to, but files do not sync across devices automatically.

  • macOS: Open the .dmg and drag Cepe Paper to Applications. Requires macOS 11 Big Sur or later.
  • Linux: On Linux, use the AppImage (mark it executable), or install the .deb or .rpm package. The Debian package depends on libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0 and libayatana-appindicator3-1.

Troubleshooting

  • If a download button asks you to sign in, use your Free or paid membership first.
  • Windows or macOS may warn that Cepe Paper is from an unidentified developer. That is expected for current builds. If you downloaded the installer from this page after signing in, you can continue the install from that warning.
  • If your account is inactive, restore access from pricing or your dashboard before downloading.
  • If a download does not start, sign in and try again. Installers are issued only to signed-in members.
  • If an in-app update is not offered, download a fresh installer from this page after signing in.
